Her Diamonds

Whether or not this is a style of music you like, I think that this is a beautiful and touching song. It was written and sung by Rob Thomas, about his wife, who suffers from a disease very like lupus. It seems to me to perfectly capture the hopelessness occasionally felt by both patients and by those who love and/or care about us. He's not kidding when he says at the end, "True story."

    1. Yes, they haven't chosen to be very open about exactly what disease she has, but it's autoimmune and it hits her nervous system specifically. Apparently, when Rob first met her she was ending up in the ER on a regular basis with grand mal seizures. I think she's doing better now, but I don't really follow celebrity gossip, so I couldn't really tell you for sure.

  2. I had no idea, and the only singer I've followed is Kenny Loggins. He also writes songs about his life experiences. Now, thanks to your introduction, and that I liked his voice and style, I'll listen to more by Rob Thomas.

    1. This song was what got me listening to him, too. After hearing about what the song was about, I did a little googling to make sure what I heard was accurate. It seems to be, and it seems like Rob Thomas has stuck with his wife through some terribly difficult times. I respect that. Plus, as you say, I just happen to like a lot of his songs. :)
